Well I've been working hard on the car all off season I'm putting a new 565 c.i. bbc in the vega to run Texas Pro Stock Class. All the engine have finally arived and we will start assembling next monday I got a new powerglide from Warren Womack (super gas world champ 06)(he's moving to super stock class) last monday along with a new digital 7 box and coil
This project has alot of leg work and alot of money ,but it will be alot of fun running against some very high dollar cars
TPSA is all 1/8 mile events around texas with no power adders allowed, a weight to c.i. limited, all heads are limited to a 22 degree valve angle and to be compepitive you must run in the 4.70's to 4.80's
I can alwyas run topsportman class in nhra as well not to mention some of the ultra fast index races
after getting into a pissing match with a local promonter (whose races I've run for years and always had his back) about his rules or should I say him changing his rules on the fly to eliminate people he doesn't like he called me every name in the book including using my private parts in the same sentence as my mother he also said I was dreaming if I thought my vega could even come close to competing in the Texas Prostock class so I started repling to his comments with the call name Dreamweaver he even went as far as to insult my engine builder(dennis faerman) because he doesn't run his little events ,but runs NHRA events dennis has held or holds national records in comp eliminator classes so thats the story behind the name and our whole town seem to get a real laff out this jack a$$ he has pissed just about everyone in town off his races used to have around 100 car count when we ran them now its down to maybe 30 cars total for all class O yea he dropped street king 2 class (5.15 index) (no showed up for it last two events) and told me I was screwed because my vega will never go quicker then a 5.15 LOL hmmm dropped 200 lbs added 400 plus hp gonna leave alot higher rpm it ran a 5.80 before not sure ,but our calculations come out alot lower then a 5.15
That car is insane, cant say i've seen something like it before, good luck with whatever class you go into and try not to let those jacka55e5 get to you!
